| 19th February 2009 | Children of Bodom Live Forum London When Sound Mixer Died a Beery Death | I was recording Bed of Razors by children of Bodom at The Forum, London when someone threw beer onto the sound mixer which promptly died and caused a premature end to the gig. Yeah I know crap sound quality but my Canon Powershot A650IS is a still camera and wasn't designed for decent videos. The mic was well overwhelmed as was the CCD sensor when the brighter lights shone in the dark. | 12th March 2009 | Snippet of Nightwish - Poet and the Pendulum Live at Brixtom Academy | This was a section of Poet and the Pendulum that features loads of pyros and light effects. At the very end the video ends when I ducked as all these streamers were launched and draped themselves all over me! Pyros start about 30 seconds in. Watch out for the streamers at the dnd, at which point I ducked as something whacked my hand. Two clips of the aerobatics while on aerotow. The tow plane is a Pawnee and the aircraft looping around the Swift is a SA180 Twister. Shame that BAE 146 fin got in the way at times but still pretty dramatic. I could have done with slightly less zoom too but wasn't about to fiddle with the camera once underway. This was part of the Race For Life (City of London). The route started and ended at Guildhall Yard and followed a circular route taking in Guildhall, London Wall, St Paul's Cathedral and Cheapside. | 19th August 2011 | Soaring Over Cumulus Clouds | On Friday 19th August 3pm BST I soared up inside a cloud over Overton, Hampshire, UK from base 3600ft QNH to just over 4600ft QNH in a sailplane glider. Once I emerged I had some fun spiralling down around a lovely cumulus before speeding up (hence the extra wind noise) to dive under another cloud to my East as I started heading back to Lasham Airfield where I launched from. The background tone is the vario. The lower the pitch the faster I am sinking.
